Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first thing you see after logging in. It shows all your projects, lets you create new ones, and provides quick access to series, billing, and account settings.

Project List

Your projects appear as cards showing:

  • Title and genre (or niche, for blog projects)
  • Word count — total words across all scenes
  • Writing type badge — Fiction or Blog
  • Last edited — when you last worked on the project

Click any project card to open it. You'll land on the Outline view by default.

Creating a Project

Click New Project to open the creation modal. Fill in:

  1. Title — your working title
  2. Genre — e.g., "Literary Fiction", "Sci-Fi", "Romance" (or "Niche" for blog projects)
  3. Premise — a 1–3 sentence summary of your story. This is the first piece of context the AI receives for every operation.
  4. Target Word Count — e.g., 80,000 for a novel, 2,000 for a blog post
  5. Writing Type — Fiction or Blog (cannot be changed after creation)

Click Create Project to start.

tip

Your premise is one of the most influential fields for AI quality. "A story about a lighthouse" gives the AI almost nothing; "A marine biologist inherits a lighthouse where her estranged mother lived a secret double life — and the journal she finds there upends everything she thought she knew about her family" gives it a world to work with.

Sample Project

Click Load Sample Project to create a fully populated demo project with acts, chapters, scenes, Story Bible entries, and written prose. This is the fastest way to explore Proseweave's features without setting up your own content first.

Project Limits

The number of active projects you can have depends on your plan:

PlanProject Limit
Free1
Trial3
Starter10
Pro / MaxUnlimited

If you've reached your limit, you'll see a lock icon when trying to create a new project. Upgrade your plan or trash an existing project to make room.

Trash

Deleted projects go to a 30-day trash before being permanently removed. Access trash from the Dashboard to restore or permanently delete projects.

Series

If you have a paid plan (Starter or above), you can create series to group related books with a shared Story Bible. Click New Series on the Dashboard to get started.

From the Dashboard, you can also access:

  • Billing — manage your plan and view credit usage
  • Account Settings — update your profile and password
  • Support — get help from the AI assistant or submit a ticket
